PRE and Variable Precision Models in Rough Set Data Analysis

چکیده
We present a parameter free and monotonic alternative to the parametric variable precision model of rough set data analysis. The proposed model is based on the well known PRE index λ of Goodman and Kruskal. Using a weighted λ model it is possible to define a two dimensional space based on (Rough) sensitivity and (Rough) specificity, for which the monotonicity of sensitivity in a chain of sets is a nice feature of the model. As specificity is often monotone as well, the results of a rough set analysis can be displayed like a receiver operation curve (ROC) in statistics. Another aspect deals with the precision of the prediction of categories – normally measured by an index α in classical rough set data analysis. We offer a statistical theory for α and a modification of α which fits the needs of our proposed model. Furthermore, we show how expert knowledge can be integrated without losing the monotonic property of the index. Based on a weighted λ , we present a polynomial algorithm to determine an approximately optimal set of predicting attributes. Finally, we exhibit a connection to Bayesian analysis. We present several simulation studies for the presented concepts. The current paper is an extended version of [4].

متن کاملGeneralized interval-valued fuzzy variable precision rough sets determined by fuzzy logical operators
For interval-valued fuzzy datasets, people have started to do research on interval-valued fuzzy rough sets and relevant models. However, these models could not be effectively applied to handle the real-valued datasets such as interval-valued fuzzy datasets as variable precision problems were not considered in interval-valued fuzzy rough sets. In this paper, fuzzy variable precision rough sets a...
متن کاملApplication of Rough Set Theory in Data Mining for Decision Support Systems (DSSs)
Decision support systems (DSSs) are prevalent information systems for decision making in many competitive business environments. In a DSS, decision making process is intimately related to some factors which determine the quality of information systems and their related products. Traditional approaches to data analysis usually cannot be implemented in sophisticated Companies, where managers ne...
متن کاملA Variable Precision Covering-Based Rough Set Model Based on Functions
Classical rough set theory is a technique of granular computing for handling the uncertainty, vagueness, and granularity in information systems. Covering-based rough sets are proposed to generalize this theory for dealing with covering data. By introducing a concept of misclassification rate functions, an extended variable precision covering-based rough set model is proposed in this paper. In a...
